Music, the key to friendship.
The representatives of the federal and national hunting horn clubs confirm that they wish to cooperate on organising the European Championship based on the principles below.
The Championship is held every odd year. The club representatives agree on the organiser, who runs the event in a simple, modest and friendly atmosphere.
The Championship is held for groups of hunting horn players (plass and parforce horns) in B and E-flat tuning. A group means at least four horn players; the maximum is not limited. Groups play without a conductor and without a music stand.
The federal or national club delegates the groups. Groups pay their own transportation, accommodation and meals. The organiser covers costs of competition and judges. Correspondence is by e-mail. The languages used are the language of the organiser and German.
Every national club has the right to delegate one experienced judge together with its group.
Every national club provides two four-voice compositions in B and E-flat, published on the Championship's web pages. Participants choose two mandatory compositions from lists of other states. Participants also play elective compositions; their number is defined by the organiser.
Judges evaluate the performance according to the following criteria:
Every participant receives a certificate of participation and a badge. The winner in each category is named the European Champion.
